Spotted at least one Northern Harrier near the drainage ponds at Downsview on Friday

It was there again this morning Monday Oct 3, 2011.

An Eastern  Screech Owl was calling Last Thursday @ 5:00 am, as I was preparing for work(window open)

Cool re: Screech Owl.  I still remember the first time I heard a "horse in the tree".     Sounds exactly like a horse whinny!

Have been sighting/hearing lots of Blue Jays lately - sighting lots of Monarch butterflies as well.

I heard an ESO up in Algonquin along one of the trails.  It's quite unforgettable.

Hey

Wednesday Nov 2  at lunchtime I spotted a Red tail hawk, a Northern Harrier and a Kestrel

all within 100 yards of each other at Downsview. The resident kestrel wasn't intimidated by either of

larger birds and did not hesitate in dive bombing them. The Phoebe was watching all of this from the fence.

I walked to Yorkdale after work and  spotted a lone Monarch along Ancaster Blvd.

Today Nov 4, I spotted a DE Junco along the tracks  (first sighting) but not first heard.

The Redwing Blackbirds finally left early this week after re-appearing about two weeks ago.

Napper :?

p.s no sign of our little Owl
