Title: someone esle is looking for ducks at Col Sam

Not everyone looking for ducks at the pond at Col Sam is on 2 feet.  I saw this guy around noon at end of pond where the stream goes into the pipe and under the path/ between the College and the main park... maybe this is an option to our "running" free dog problem in the park... at least for the smaller ones...... :twisted:  :wink:

Looks pretty long legged for a coyote -- easy to see with this pic why people get confused. Great photo !

Great picture! On Friday afternoon, October 21st (Trafalgar Day) I saw one coyote twice or two Coyotes separately, bold as brass, within 5 minutes of each other very close to the South Parking lot. I warned a couple of "small dog running free" people but in one case I was disbelieved and the other case ignored. C'est la vie!

Idiots!!!   :x   People like that really tick me off - they don't believe when you're telling them the truth, they ignore and "snub" you ... or they decide they want to have an argument/fight with you about the whole thing!  How sad they're going to find out the hard way when a coyote decides to have their dog for a meal.

thanks for comments.....there was a story on the news about a running loose coyote in Mississauga on Thurs or Fri with pictures and this one looked alot like that one, his tail was very wet and rat like, there is sure alot around in the area but I wonder if it is the same one.   I saw one at Riverwood in the spring and his fur and conditions was excitement.  When I first saw him, I thought it was simply a dog coming down from the path for a drink but after a second look I realized what it was.

Wow! I was there on Sunday just after 12:30...a bird acquaintance told me that he saw a coyote earlier in the morning in the field where the platform was...kind of scary
They can be mistaken for simple dogs...I remember a few years ago that coyotes were travelling from high park to humber bay..(a pair if i recall and mangy too).
You can warn folks all you want but they dont' listen and like you said..until an incident happens, that's when it is an issue.
I warned a few people in High Park when I saw the coyotes along the path and one person said "oh i'm not worried my dog can hold his own"..hmmhmmmm...keep thinking that buddy.

I hope I am lucky enough to capture one on film again, they are like ghosts... I love it.

I've been searching out Fox and Coyote for photo opportunities all year with little luck.  I do see one Coyote quite often in one area I enjoy strolling and it startles me often...  just cuts across the path in front of me, no stopping, almost stepping on my toes and keeps going.

I figure if I just stop looking, perhaps I will get my chance.
