Title: Erindale Park - Bluebirds and Hawks
Post by: Reuven_M on October 29, 2011, 06:54:16 PM
It was fairly good at Erindale around noon today, but the hawk flight wasn't as good as I hoped.

hawks: 16 red-tails, 4 sharp-shins, 1 vulture, 3 buteo sp., 4 raptor sp.

also:
Small numbers of some typical late migrants: 1 creeper, 1 hermit thrush, 1 each of each kinglet, 8 junco, 1 song and 1 white-throated sparrow
loads of finches, about 150 gold and 20 house

but the highlight was a flock of at least 12 bluebirds, never seen that many (5 in one binocular view!), a sign that it is practically winter, but still great to see
