Wow.....I've been wanting to see and grab a shot of a Fawn Darner for sometime now. Great shot! I have caught Lance -tipped Darners before but have no live shots of it. Most times, Black Saddlebags are found cruising just above the water surface. Well Done, nice series!

Thanks Gary
I find Darners tough to snap as they are fliers rather than perchers. I've only managed to find them perched the odd time.
As for Black Saddlebags, I seem to find them in flower gardens!

Great stuff John! I cannot wait until next summer to chase them all once again. This season really seemed short for them. Happy you are becoming quite the master of ID'ing.
-
Thanks Rob.
As for ID's, I'm not a master just an apprentice!
I've picked up some guides and received some help from knowledgeable people.

Great set John. Love the colours on the darners. This is something I've had no success with :)
-
Thanks Moira!
Yeah, it's a bit different from bird photography.
-
Great set John! Especially the Shadow Darner: that's a tough shot to capture.

Great shots John.

These are really amazing shots. I never seem to see them still long enough for the "perfect" shot.

Thanks Bobo and Irene.
