Richard ... Nice sighting! :D I love your 1st photo (unfortunately, my computer is cutting off the heads in photo 2 and 3).

Beautiful!, I don't think I ever seen these, but I do remember last year there was a purplish/redish bird atop an evergreen, I just passed it off as a finch...unfortunately even with cropping the picture was too small for an accurate ID, now I"m wondering if it was a cross=bill
what a beautiful bird! Great sighting :)

Lucky you, great shot, i've not seen one of these yet.

Sign me up with the others who haven't seen one. Beautiful looking bird.

i saw the flock swarm down over the road at Thickson Woods. they disappeared into trees. spent 5 min looking for them, then they were on the move.
i thought they were either bluebirds or pine siskins.
finally, i saw them eating off of a pine tree. i had to move around it to get pics that weren't into the sun.
i managed to take 2 before they took off. i wish i had better ones :(

We've not seen them before either. One day. :)

I haven't seen any reports yet this year but I saw them a couple of years ago at the Humber Arboretum along with several other interesting birds.
