Title: Visitor from south looking to avoid thanksgiving
Post by: lovemypt on November 16, 2011, 08:33:59 PM
I found this bird hiding out in Riverwood park this afternoon, most likely trying to avoid the upcoming American Thanksgiving for our neighbors to the south. I was able to get relatively close expecting it to take to flight but the bird decided to casually walk away as if nobody noticed it...

Despite spending so much time there, and seeing just about everything else remotely likely (both eagles, 6 species of owl etc.), I have yet to see a turkey in Riverwood or Erindale, even though everyone else seems to have. Nice shots!

Wild Turkeys are a riot to watch.  We see them up at Albion Hills every visit.

And much like your friends seeing the Turkeys at Riverwood and not you Reuven.  All my friends keep seeing Red Fox in their travels and they all elude me.
