Title: Nice late fall day at Riverwood
Post by: lovemypt on November 16, 2011, 09:11:02 PM
The skies were cloudy but still a nice day for a stroll thru Riverwood park in Mississauga.  Not too much unusual except 1 wild turkey, but the regular winter birds were there in force.

Red-bellied woodpeckers
Hairys
Downys
Chickadees
Juncos
Morning doves
House finches (males showing nice red colouring)
3-4 Mallards in river
Herring Gulls
1 hermit thrush
goldfinches
starlings
cardinals
Bluejays
many..many robins  ( alot stay in park all winter)

1 wild turkey

Lucky you!   8)   I have yet to see a Wild Turkey here in Mississauga but lots of birders have seen them in Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erindale Park and Riverwood.

Lots of non-birders and park employees have seen them as well ...... Dang.   :|
