The Parks, Forestry and Recreation department of the City of Toronto is holding meetings for a new five-year parks plan. You can also go to www.toronto.ca/parks/parksplan (http://www.toronto.ca/parks/parksplan) to fill out a survey. (The survey is available until Dec. 16.) As bird and nature lovers we should let them know what is important to us.

Thanks for the heads up, I filled out the survey and tried to express the need for more habit and nature areas; as well as more control of free running dogs in some parks such as Col Sam. and Lambton Woods
-
Took it and also posted to the Rosetta Raptor Watch site,so it would be shared further. I too put in my words against more and all dog runs. Sorry if U dont have the property to run a dog, dont own one. To me one entire section of High Park is ruined by the dogs off leash area.

I took the survey as well and commented on the dog problems

Took it and made note of the dog problem as well.

Going to do the survey now as well and will too post about the irresponsible dog owners who think it's their right to allow their dogs to run rampant through the woods.
What really pisses me off is places like Sam Smith have leash free zones, Bronte Creek too.
-
Did the survey too! also pointed out the off leash dogs and not enough signs etc... hope it makes a difference!
Thanks for posting this :)

Sorry to drag up this old thread, but it seems the current city councillors like digging up old plans, even if there are current ones.
Accordingly, councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong is proposing that all city-owned parks become off-leash between 9:00pm and 9:00am. My source of information: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article ... city-parks (http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/1280744--dogs-may-run-free-in-all-city-parks)
Lovely.
