Title: Cooper's Hawk vs. Sharp-shinned Hawk
Post by: Bluffs Birder on December 05, 2011, 08:47:13 PM
Hi folks,

I guess if you are going to do a side-by-side photo comparison of 2 birds in your yard you might as well make sure they are sitting on the exact same branch almost in the exact same spot and almost on the exact same day of the year, Dec 7th, 2009 and Dec 5th, 2011 and almost the exact same lighting conditions.  None of this was planned though! :o

Must be one fine perch... or good hunting grounds. We have a Cooper's coming to "visit" our yard most days recently. He's know by the locals but he can still pick them off. It makes me sad but if I were to remove our feeders he would only go dine somewhere else

Great hunting grounds!  50 - 70 House Sparrows at any given time.
