Visited Erindale and Riverwood today and tuesday, the relatively mild weather means that the feeders aren't being used much, so I didn't see very many sparrows or woodpeckers. I did find:
at least 3 red-tailed hawks
1 kingfisher
1 song sparrow
1 white-winged crossbill
lots of finches, about 50 house and 100 gold
1 golden-crowned kinglet

Where's Erindale and Riverwood park? Are they good for birding :?:

They're along the credit river in Mississauga. Can be very good for birding (I've had 2 golden eagle, boreal chickadee, 2 lousisana waterthrush, and a number of days with hundreds of migrants), but also often very little. The bird feeders in Riverwood can attract some cool stuff in winter, such as red-bellied woodpecker, white-throated and swamp sparrow, brown thrasher and hoary redpoll.
