Anyone going to try for this extreme rarity in the Whitby Harbour area? OFO does not have a pic of this species yet.

The Smew was at Whitby Harbour today right in front of the parking lot on Water Street.

It was not seen in the harbour this morning.

I was there today. No Smew, but a male Harlequin Duck was a very nice consolation.

We heard about the harlie but unfortunately couldn't find it with binoculars.
