A beautiful pair of Northern Harriers were cruising up and down the ponds this afternoon. The female flew within about ten feet of me at eye level - a wonderful treat on a quiet day at the spit. Otherwise, lots of the usual suspects wherever there was still open water (Buffleheads, Redheads, Gadwalls, Long-tails, Goldeneyes, Mergansers, Mallards, 2 Trumpeters and 2 Widgeons).

I was there yesterday. I was lucky enough to see a male adult, first time for me. Gorgeous bird.
