I would dearly love to see this guy but cannot drive such long distances.
Was wondering if it was possible to get there by some other form of public transport. If possible was thinking of getting there in the early afternoon, pay the guy a visit, shack up at some local inn/b&b place for the night, visit him again the next morning and leave in the afternoon.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks.

Train/bus to Windsor and taxi/rental car from there.

There's a nice little motel in town called "Adam's Golden Acres". It's a clean, family owned business, located right on Main St. and not too far from the GGO. Admittedly I haven't had reason to stay there for a few years, but they've always treated us well in the past.
Did you see the owl on the front page of the Toronto Star today? Looks like a real circus down there! Maybe with all the interest, you could find someone to carpool down with. Try posting a request here.
Good Luck!
