Title: High Park
Post by: rcflier on January 19, 2012, 02:28:43 PM
Diverted from my routing ( Lake Aquitaine ) today and went to High Park to spend a few hours with a few of my amateur radio friends.  Had a quick little bite at the Grenadier then went for a nice ( approx) 5km walk. My first visit ever to High Park, and I will certainly return as I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Several sparrows and chickadees in several locations.
about 8 Juncos in one location.
10 ( counted) robins in a group down near the pond.
In the pond - mostly ice covered except for a small open area in the middle

2 Mute Swans
many gulls.

That 5k must have felt like 10 with the wind we are having...

Was on the 407 mid morning and the winds were so strong that I had to drive 20-30kmh above speed limit to just keep the car from being pushed around.
