Shot this Red-Tailed Hawk from inside the car today, not a bad blind.

Very nice capture.

Great shot Paul, seems like that's when you see them up close,
but not always can you stop for the shot.

Magnifique!

Very nice shot! Whenever I stop they fly away! Very hard to get a red tailed like this. Well done! Cheers Terry

Always a challenge for me as well, them birds on a wire, but always fun to try. Good catch Paul!

Lovely catch.
Yesterday I had the camera next to me in the car. Was stopped at an intersection intending to turn left and saw this redwing coming down but the light turned and....
He swopped just a couple of feet behind the pavement, grabbed his food and flew off to a nearby tree. And I could not stop.... Grrrrrrrr

Was this (shot) captured using the equipment in your signature ( Nikon D50, 80-400vr ) ?
If not, what equipment was used?
Thanks, Bob

Yes, Nikon D50 80-400vr. Not the best high end setup for birding but I have managed to learn the combo effectively enough to keep it going for now. At some point a fixed prime would be a great way to make the leap for better images with less noise. The body was purchased new, I clean my sensor every few months and it keeps on Clicking.
