Title: Snowy Owl
Post by: Gus on January 22, 2012, 02:26:02 PM
Hi.
This past week on Tuesday and Thursday evening I have seen a Snowy Owl perched on a street light post on the Dundas street east offramp /427 south. After jumping a fence to get a better look I also spotted 2 hares (very very large) below the Owl in the field along the highway. I beleive this owl maybe stalking these rabbits. The sightings have been in the evening between 9pm and 11pm.

I have also seen the following birds and animals along the Etobicoke creek around West Mall and Dundas street east. In the past 2 weekends.

1 Great blue heron living there.
1 Kingfisher
1 juvenile red tailed hawk
Downy woodpecker
Cardinals
Mallards and Canada geese

1 Muskrat
2 white tailed deer
plenty of small rabbits (many footprints in the snow)

Neat!  That is very close to my home.  Thanks for sharing with a tale to boot!
