My first Grey Catbird of the year was skulking in dense foliage on the western edge of High Park early this afternoon. It was seen from Ellis Park Road, overlooking the reed beds north of Grenadier Pond. Look for the Wildlife Sanctuary sign. Also, two drake Northern Pintails were feeding with Mallards in the small pond nearby.

Hi BC,
I think the Catbird has been there for awhile. People have seen it off and on since late December. So rather than being an early migrant I think it is a bird that has hung around the whole winter. Still it is a great find for Toronto in winter and fun to see.
