Title: Back yard bird bath near Sam Smith
Post by: Voyageur on May 26, 2007, 05:58:07 PM
A starling was splashing in the bath while two Cedar Wax Wings hovered above it. The two CW immediately became five when the ES departed. They left when I reached for the camera. The grackle comes by often to drop his little white sack of baby poo into the water. A lone House finch was next followed by the Northern Mocking bird. The NM stopped on the fence and decided against a bath or drink and flew off. We then had a Downy or Hairy land on the back yard shed. He pecked a few times on the eave and moved on while the Baltimore Oriole above sang  over and over. The BO from the underside view seemed more yellow than orange and the song doesn't check out with the Cornell version.
My bird ran a four note tune repeatedly. Saturday afternoon in the city, not bad.
