Checked out Reesor Pond in Markham (Reesor Rd south of Hwy 7). It was completely frozen, but still lots of birds around, mainly Canada Geese (around 1000) and I was able to pick out 1 Cackling Goose among them. Also 6 Green-winged Teal, a couple of Gadwall and a fly-by Common Merganser.
Also made a stop at Rouge Beach Park, with 10 Hooded Merganser being the highlight, also a female Long-tailed Duck, a few Gadwall, Bufflehead and Common Mergansers.
