Title: Hooded Mergansers at Professors Lake
Post by: rcflier on March 11, 2012, 06:12:50 PM
Today was a great for me.  Spotted a pair ( M&F ) Hooded Merganser at Professors Lake in Brampton.  Also, just as I was getting into the car to leave a "wedge" of Swans flew over.  I believe they may be Tundra Swans as the bills are black, and, when I zoom in close on the pics I don't see any yellow tags on any of the wings.

I think you can remove the question mark. It's the time of year for Tundra Swan migration and the bill shape and size looks right for Tundra too.

A large flock of migrating Trumpeter Swans would also be very unusual.
