Hi everyone. Today from 9:30 - 11:50am, Bob (rcflier) and I walked around Humber Bay Park East. Sighted the following:
Buffleheads
Canada Geese
Cardinals
Chickadees
Gadwalls
Grackles
Hooded Merganser x 1 (female) - swimming and munching on a small fish.
House Sparrows - including females cleaning out nesting boxes.
Long-tailed Ducks
Mallards
Mockingbirds x 2
Mourning Doves x 2
Mute Swans - :( including one with a hook & fish lure caught at bottom of his (or her) webbed foot. This swan was hissing at a small dog (apparently dog is elderly, blind and deaf).
Red-breasted Mergansers - hilarious mating behaviour with males lifting up out of water, stretching their necks out then craning them backwards!
Red-winged Blackbirds (males)
Ring-billed Gulls
Starling x 1
Tundra (?) swans - a "wedge" of 28 flying by honking, heading West.
No visit to Humber Bay Park is complete without a visit across the street to Mr. Christie Bakery Outlet store! :D
