Title: Sam Smith March 13
Post by: Fireweed on March 13, 2012, 03:56:58 PM
Today at Sam Smith I saw a tundra swan, juvenile trumpeter swan and the usual swans.

I also saw what I am pretty sure were a pair of red necked grebes in the marina.

Along with the usual bufflrheads, mallards, gadwalls, etc.

We were at Sam's today but missed your Tundra & Trumpeter. However, amongst the usual suspects (28 species) we can confirm the Red-necked Grebes and Horned Grebes (winter colours) The most surprising sightings were our first Eastern Phoebe -very early, by the gardens- and a lovely pair of Blue-winged Teals seen from the observation deck.
