Title: Spring Peepers
Post by: Halton Hills on March 16, 2012, 09:00:33 PM

Already singing since Monday... (March 12th)......definitely the earliest I've ever heard them (going back decades)

I guess with this absolute bizzarro weather it was only inevitable.

Today......another early arrival showed up......a tree swallow at the bird box..... 8) ......Glen Williams / Terra Cotta area

Even the Hummingbirds are well on their way......passing through North Carolina yesterday.

I think they all fled back ! You just know that somewhere there's a female bird scolding her mate "I told you it was too early to return but nooo you had to be the bigshot and get back before the rest of the flock !"

yep.....it had to come crashing back to reality......  :(

The Hummers are here but I haven't had one yet.......my feeders were frozen solid the other morning.

My Eastern Bluebirds are looking a little out of sorts.....but luckily I have my mealworm supply so they are happily getting by.

I imagine it's the same pair from last year as they didn't need any training at all.

They knew exactly where the food was and always sit on the railing if they need to be fed.....  8)
