Title: Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher; Hermit Thrush
Post by: nana on March 30, 2012, 05:13:45 PM
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher with a flock of Golden Crowned Kinglets at Ashbridges Bay this afternoon in the trees along the shore
at the far end of the marina.
Hermit Thrush on Wednesday afternoon in the woods just off the parking lot on the way to the marina.
Ashbridges Bay is at the foot of Coxwell off Lakeshore Boulevard.

Welcome to the board!  I haven't seen either of those species yet this year.  The Hermit Thrush is early, but not too surprising this year.  The gnatcatcher is an excellent find!

AS I FOUND out last year, Ashbridges Bay is one of the most underrated parks in the GTA. i found better spring birds there then i did at Thickson Woods (i.e. incredibly close proximity to me instead of 150 ft up in the air).

such a great non-weekend park.
