Title: Dead Long-Eared Owl
Post by: Soaring Hawk on April 03, 2012, 11:59:50 PM
I went for a walk today along the lake, along the beaches and boarwalk to the east of the mouth of the Humber River. In the sand i saw the carcass of a long-eared owl. It was pretty mangled and sandy but i was able to use an online feather identifying website to be assured it was a long-eared. I assume it has been there at least a few weeks.

Also saw mergansers, a cormorant, killdeer, hering gull, pintail duck, and mutliple duck species but didnt have binoculars or a book to i.d. Them
