we have a brown thrasher feeding and caring for fledgling sparrows. this is in downtown toronto.
-
you're sure it's a brown thrasher?
you're sure they're fledgling sparrows?

absolutely positive it is a brown thrasher. It has been here for about 2 weeks. pretty aggressive bird. was pointing it out to neighbours yesterday when it fed a worm to sparrow. 3 witnesses. Don't think sparrows usually eat worms do they? And yes these are definitely young sparrows being cared for by the thrasher.

cool! get a photo if you can.

if you can't get a photo PM someone who can lol. That would make for an aweome picture to add to anyones collection.

managed to get some photos but not sure how to post them. thrasher has been gone for a week or so. believe it might have been attracted initially to the traffic signals that produce a chirping/smacking sound similar to it's call. will post pics once someone explains how. thanx.
