Post by: bluepointbirder on April 06, 2012, 10:31:49 AM
Hi
I took this picture on Tuesday April 3/12.  Just thought it was a good shot of a bunch of gulls but noticed one was white possible two...any suggestions?

thanks
Brian

I'm no expert but my closest guess is maybe an immature Iceland or Glaucous gull. Tip of beak and eyes look black in photo. Where was this picture taken? That might help. Too bad the legs are obscured in the photo, did you get a chance to see what color they were?

Thanks Gary
No I did not get a look at its legs.  It was in Bright's Gove.  Here is another shot of it from a distance.[attachment=0:6hga2bgd]017.JPG[/attachment:6hga2bgd]

thanks

I think it is a Glaucous Gull. It looks bigger than the Herring Gulls.

And I guess this should be in the Bird ID section.
