Title: Mountsberg Conservation Reservoir - Campbelville
Post by: rcflier on April 08, 2012, 11:23:32 AM
Saturday my honey and I had a very pleasant day at the Mountsberg Reservoir ( http://g.co/maps/hea6q (http://g.co/maps/hea6q) ) , part of the Halton Hills Conservation Authority.  They have a very interesting Raptor Centre

At the Raptor Centre resident birds of prey have permanent injuries that have left them incapable of surviving on their own in the wild. In many cases, these injuries were caused by human activity. With the help of these feathered ambassadors, the Mountsberg Raptor Centre teaches the community about the native birds of prey that share our environment and how to reduce the negative impact we can have on them.

We also visited the maple syrup centre and walked about 5km of forested trails.

We didn't get too deep into the marshy area trails this day so I think a return trip soon is in order.  Click below for photo album.

Highlight of the day was the wild Osprey nest.
