Post by: Janet Tubb on April 14, 2012, 03:29:56 PM
After taking in the Cherry Blossoms I walked by Grenadier Pond and saw Robins, RW Blackbirds, Mallards, Canada Geese, Mute Swan, Buffleheads, DC Cormorant, Northern Shoveler pair and a Black Crowned Night Heron.

Thanks to Reuven-M for confirming the IDs.

I live close to High Park and enjoy reading your postings.  hope you see the wood ducks soon.  There are at least three pair; sometimes two pair sit on a log together.  my other most frequent haunts are Humber Bay East and West. This morning spotted four horned grebes, one still in winter plumage, and a Savannah Sparrow.  How would I post my sightings?  I am new to this.  Greenleaf80.

Welcome to the board Greenleaf80! You can post your local sightings under the Toronto Forum. It's helpful to use a subject line that includes the location and the date and/or the species if it's something really exciting. If someone else has posted for that same location within the last few days, you may simply wish to add your observations as a reply to the existing post. Take a look at some of the other forums and older posts to get a feel for the board. You may also wish to join "ebird Canada" if you haven't already done so - it's a great source of information and a convenient way to track your own sightings.  http://ebird.org/content/canada

Enjoyed the Cherry Blossoms twice this week! You're lucky to live so close.
