Fish for dinner

I swung by Humber Bay East to see if I could catch a glimpse of the Night Heorn that's been reported on ebird but had no luck.  Instead I ran across this cool merganser having a fat fish for dinner.  Not sure what fish...a Round Goby perhaps?

Amazing how it got that fish down, looks too big for it to eat.

When I was standing there taking the pics, I was thinking "oh that's cute, she thinks she can eat that huge fish.  Well let's see how long this will go on for until the fish gets away."  And when she swallowed it, my jaw nearly hit the floor...I was speechless...will never doubt you again mergansers.  It was fun to watch.

Black-crowned Night Heron's are wintering under the Queen St. bridge at DVP & Queen St. (they have been roosting all winter at this location, hope this helps and hope they are still there!).

Holy moly it did help.  I passed by today and saw 5 of them roosting in a tree and a Kingfisher doing flybys.  If you have any more gems up your sleeve, feel free to share
