I flocked today with so many wonderful local birders. It  made the day a real treat, and if any of  you are reading this, I hope to see you again soon.  And we saw some birds!  A veritable Spring-Time cheer went up when we all spotted our first Baltimore of the season.

The usually rich bowl was desolate - I had a Wood Thrush when entering the park and a Hermit and a Trasher when leaving, but otherwise. bupkus.  Same with the thicket near Jean Tweed.  The bulk of the action was on the east side of the Australian Rules field, directly across the field from the Creek.

I saw:

Common Loon (flyover)
Hairy Woodpecker
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
Flycatcher (the consensus was an early Wood Pewee, but we weren't 100% sure without a song to help us)
Blue-Headed Vireo
Warbling Vireo
Blue Jay (hundreds flying over)
Winter Wren
R.C. Kinglet
Gnatcatcher
Hermit Thrush
Wood Thrush
Catbird
Thrasher
Nashville
Yellow
Yellow-Rump
Pine
Palm
Black and White
Chippy
Savannah Sparrow
Song Sparrow
White-Throated Sparrow
White-Crowned Sparrow
Junco
Cowbird
Baltimore Oriole
Goldfinch

We searched for the Bobolinks in 2 spots and came up empty.  There were reports of the Blue-Winged in the area east of the Australian Rules field where we had so much good fortune, but our patient waiting and watching went unrewarded.

...for what it's worth, I forgot to mention 3 cacophonous Killdeer turning tightly in Squawky Circles over the Australian Rules field...
