At first I couldn't find them and the nest appeared abandoned; I was concerned that Monday's storm had caused some problems for them. I did find them, though; mom and dad had just taken them to the other side of the bridge and I spent a half hour watching them.
Glad to hear (and see) they made it through the storm. The nest was in a stormwater detention pond, so I expect it got a bit turbid in there and difficult to find minnows. They're growing fast, so they're obviously eating a lot. Are there still 4 chicks? (I only see 3 in your photos.)
I'm not tired of them yet. I'm still thrilled to see such an amazing year of breeding success after so many years of failed nest attempts.
