Do red and grey squirrels ? I took as a hybrid on with the eye ring and reddish coat, in part but now wonder if I'd seen a fox squirrel.

The only Fox Squirrels in Ontario are on Pelee Island. And I've never heard of other squirrels hybridizing, but I suppose there has to be a first report for everything. Eastern Gray Squirrel can be highly variable, however.
