In the future I have been thinking of buying a spotting scope, though don't know which one offers the best clarity and magnification.  I can afford up to $800, and I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what spotting scope would give me the best results for birding, thanks.

With birding developed into a world wide sport, the choice of Spotting Scope has also greatly widened since the early 80's when there were essentially only three scopes available.  For us in Ontario, there is naturally the Pelee Wings Nature Store outside the Point Pelee National Park that could offer the expertise advise for a birder who is shopping for a reasonably priced optics.

As to the selections of Spotting Scope, the following links may be helpful to browse over what is available in the current market place:

Good birding and photography.
