Memorial Day and Independence Day seem to be pretty reliable dates for the Audubon field guide apps to go on sale: $1.99 ea this time. This applies to Android, but I expect there's a similar sale for iOS. The North American Birds is definitely worth having. The rest are a mixed bag - none of them nearly as well done as birds.
