Well, ok, not really but we just celebrated our fiftieth anniversary and one of the gifts we received was a bird clock, which I finally got around to putting up this afternoon. Every hour is indicated by a different bird call and I was at the computer at nine pm, which featured the call of the belted kingfisher - scared the heck out of me 'cause I wasn't looking at the clock at the time! It's really neat; comes with a certificate of authenticity from the National Audubon Society and has a light sensor that turns off the hourly calls during darkness (I sure hope that works!). And speaking of kingfishers there's one that hangs out around the pond at the southwest corner of Woodbine and Highway 7. I saw him today and got a few long range shots with my SX50.

Thanks Leslie. We're still trying to get used to hourly bird calls in the house!
