Today I found two male Ring-necked Ducks in the harbour area just south of the Lakeshore. Unfortunately they were not very close to shore but perhaps they will move to a better viewing location another day. I know these ducks have been reported at some of the western parks like Sam's, Humber Bay and Mimico, but it's nice to find them in the east end too. If they come closer to shore, keep an eye out for possible females - they were too distant for me to be sure today. Here's one of the males...

Went out early to see if I can find the Ring-necked Ducks... Saw one, along with a Northern Shoveler and a pair of Hooded Mergansers. Thanks!
Also, there was one Ring-necked Duck  and 4 Hooded Mergansers at Unwin Bridge this morning, along with all the other regulars.

Thanks Kris for the heads up on this.  I always like seeing Ring-necked Ducks.  I saw them and you were right, they were not close.  But I got a new 83x superzoom camera and managed to pull him in a bit:

Forgot to mention, I also saw the resident Wood Duck still deeply in love with a female mallard.  He's so sweet, such loyalty and dedication :)

A good week for Ring-necked Ducks. There were 9 on the Leslie Spit today!
