Cape St. Mary's, Newfoundland

I'm in Newfoundland for the weekend, spent a day with an amazing local bird guide who took me to Cape St. Mary's. A wonderful place to see seabirds and wildlife. Had a fantastic day birding; 100,000 birds on the cliffs and 15 lifer birds (not all photographed) throughout the day. Today though was a letdown, I was booked for a boat tour to see Puffins but, strong winds cancelled all boat tours out of Bay Bulls, would have seen 1 000 000 birds, of these 225,000 puffins alone. ...and these guys were out in large numbers, snowies are still being seen on the Cape.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll catch the resident Bald Eagles on their nests over-looking downtown St. John's. Great closeup views from Signal hill trail.

Great pix. Cape St. Mary's is fabulous - we went both times we were in Newfoundland.
