Yes, great idea, as the barns in the GTA slowly disappear. At the barn where I keep my horse, the population and number of nests have increased for the last few years, so that is good. This years group look to be winding down after second batches. Nothing more delightful then listening tomthemchatter of barn swallows while grooming your horse.
At the previous barn I boarded at even had a colony of Cliff swallows, but I asked this year and there only apparently 1 or 2 nests this year, which was sad. I counted about 9 active nests about 3 years ago.
