Stepped out of the car today only to startle an owl in the nearby conifer tree. First glance was large, so Great Horned came to mind, but was rather swift as it darted to two or three trees before flying away from my sight fully. Any one else able to see this guy/gal recently in Col. Sam? This was directly beside the south most parking lot fyi. I'm thinking possible screech owl, but perhaps there a resident GH?
Other than than, some usuals in the harbour and bays, long tailed ducks, scaups, a sprinkle of buffleheads etc. One female merganser as well.
