I saw two of these magnificent butterflies on the Leslie Street Spit yesterday, and I've heard reports of several others in the Toronto area. Last year they didn't seem to be around at all, but this seems like a good year for them. You may want to keep your eyes peeled the next time you're in one of the lakeside parks.

Great shot, I managed to see and photograph one today here in Kingston. Haven't see on in a long time.

Wow--beautiful photos of both sides. They can be tricky to shoot because of the way they vibrate their wings, even while nectaring.
