Twice this week I've watched an eagle over Grenadier Pond in high park. It's unmistakebly eagle-like... big, strong flyer, not an osprey or red-tail hawk. I assume it's a young golden eagle [it's actually "golden" light-coloured under the wings] but would love some feedback on this. Am I right?

If it is staying around in this area, and near a source of water, too, it is probably a young Bald Eagle.

I would, however, love to be wrong.   :D

thanks. I only know eagles from BC where they are "clearly" bald eagles. This one is a uniform mid--to light-golden colour. It has strong under-wing flashes that are almost buff. It's been too hard to get a photo but both my wife and I have watched it through bino's for minutes eaach time. It flies fast, with strong regular wing strokes.

Bald Eagle was hanging around in TINY MARSH, cosing huge discomfort to resident nesting Osprey population . Posted  some pics in nature photobug.
