A large dragonfly that prefers shade but also prefers being near a marsh. Let's face it, a marsh doesn't usually offer much shade. Life is tough, and then you die. Look for them where a willow overhangs the south side of a marsh. They are not exactly common but they do hang around from spring to November. I wonder how excited they get during those brief moments during a total solar eclipse. They probably do an Immelmann Maneuver.
