I've had some new suspects at my feeders over the past few days -- yep...Pine Siskins...had a flock of 10 (3 m , 7 f)...its a first for me...was wondering how often they come to the feeder...I'm about a half hour south of Owen Sound.

If they like you they will eat you out of house and home, and bring their buddies to join them! LOL  I stopped counting how many pounds of niger seed we have gone through since they and their buddies the redpolls arrived here in January.  Some days I have only siskins, some days mostly redpolls, some days mixed flocks of both and always in varying numbers - on Monday I estimated about 200 mostly redpolls, today seems like just siskins and very few - but the town is taking down a huge old tree on the side road next to us and I suspect  it is upsetting to the birds.  They haven't been seen since the chainsaws started around lunchtime, and they are usually around most of the day.
