Greetings

I was at Oak Bank Pond in Thornhill on Sunday and spotted two families of wood ducks at the pond. One family was about 1 month old and the other was 2 weeks old, no males were present. Just momma and here babies. Had a great photo opportunity shooting the younger family. They come right up to the viewing platform because the locals are feeding them. Also there were blue herons, 10 at one time, night herons and two common terns hunting for food. I then went to G.Ross Park and found more blue herons, spotted sandpipers, greater yellow legs, killdeers,(all on the mudflats) belted kingfisher, brown thrasher, turkey vaultures and even a osprey in the middle of Toronto. Another great photo opportunity there too!!!!!

OakBank Pond is on Centre St  in Thornhill just north of Steels on Yonge St between Yonge and Bathurst, right infront of the church.

G.Ross Park is at Duffrin and Finch, Turn right at the second set of lights off Duffrin north of Finch , take the road all the way to the riding stables and walk down to the water front. Bring boots if your going to venture out on the mudflats, it's very muddy.

Enjoy
