Today, at 4:45 pm, we were walking home from Earl Bales Park (Bathurst/Sheppard area) after having no luck finding any hummers. We did see the two local Red-tails flying around the area. When we were opposite the community centre, I looked up to see one of the hawks (the male I assume) escorting another bird out of his territory. The other bird was so big it made the hawk look like a pipsqueak. It was a juvie Bald Eagle! The hawk harrassed it for quite a while. One time it dived at the eagle and the eagle showed the hawk its talons. The last we saw of the eagle, it was heading west.

Drooling with envy, here!!!

I went to the Spit today for an impromptu walk and didn't see anything unusual, just a million cormorants.  I swear there is at least one in every picture I took!
