Hey!

Earlier this evening a soaring Sharp shinned hawk  caused havoc in a local neighbourhood. Many of the local birds were seen chasing the evil one off.

Crows and Grackles rocketed upward to fend off the intruder. Thankfully none of the local population was attacked.

The resident Robins, Chipping sparrows ,waxwings, & starlings  all took cover during this brazen attack.

The local enforcement " Redwinged Black bird division" was not available for comment.

It's interesting to watch the pecking order (pun intended) of our avian friends.  Our grackles, crows and RWB's will chase off most of the other larger birds but I find it funny that the Blue Jays, who have bullied everyone around the feeders, are getting their tailfeathers kicked by the Kingbirds that have moved in.  There's always somebody bigger or feistier...

Tom.
