Definitely visit the Napo Wildlife Center near Tena in the Ecuadorian Amazon.  Make sure that you're vaccinated against Yellow Fever before going there though.

Lucky you! This was the trip of a lifetime for me 2 yrs. ago - a Retirement gift to myself! We were in Quito for a couple of days but that was just sight-seeing.
The trip really started after we arrived on Baltra and embarked on the week long cruise at 2pm. By 4pm we were hiking on N. Seymour I. and viewing the reason for my trip - the blue-footed boobies, including the mating dance. Also many mating mag. frigatebirds - such gorgeous red pouches. A wonderful delight were the waved albatross on Espanola.
We saw Darwin finches, different mockingbirds on different islands, flamingoes, many yellow warblers, vermilion flycatcher (in the Highlands near the tortoises). Lava heron, lava and swallow-tailed gulls. Red-billed Tropicbird.
The Galapagos version of dove, hawk, penguin, flightless cormorant, smooth -billed ani. (There are 29 birds endemic to the islands.)
Then there were the noddies, shearwaters, strorm-petrels etc - too many to mention.
PM me if you want more details.
