I noticed that logging onto this site with a computer equipped with Norton Site Safety triggers an alert advising that logging onto this site exposes you to a computer threat...something about obnoxious download requests....can anyone out there explain what this means?

Hey Axeman :!:

I would assume that Norton see's the site as potential for Viral or Malware infection.

I am running "AVAST",  it"s web scanner has never had a problem with this site.. I also run "PG2" and block a whole bunch of Bad ip's.

I stopped using "Symantec" products about 6 years ago..  I found  that them, there programs use too much CPU yu know. .  The last three computers I bought came with "Norton" which  I promptly uninstalled and deleted the program files.

P.s.  At First when I read your Coyote thread I thought it was a Spam. I ain't going anywhere near that one.

I run Avast also, no problems with this site. It may be that its just an alert due to the site having being a forum.

I've got Norton on my computer as well, and the same warning has started popping up recently.  I'm not sure what it means either, but nothing bad has happened yet.

I just upgraded my computer and it came with Norton installed and have experienced this warning as well..
The 'threat' reads 'HTTP Malicious  Toolkit Download Request'
According to Norton 'This signature detect attempts to download exploits from a malicious toolkit which may compromise a computer through various vendor vulnerabilities'.
I haven't had any problems.
I am a member of several other forums but I do not get this warning at any of them.
I had AVG on my previous computer and never had any problems. I'll probably go back to AVG once I'm comfortable with Windows 7.
