Good Morning  :D

Yesterday I led a TOC bird walk on the Leslie Street Spit and besides the birds we also observed some other wildlife.

At the Triangle Pond were 6 Painted and 2 Map Turtles and in the Small or Goldfish Pond were an amazing    17 small Painted Turtles visible.

On the Butterfly front though I am not into them myself I listened as some of the participants talked about their sightings. I do know the Monarchs and there were a few hundred on The Spit and I listened as someone counted 19 Red Admirals in a short stretch across the road from the Triangle Pond. We probably saw 50 Red Admirals while out there as the sun warmed things up. There were also a lot of Cabbage Whites, Sulphurs and some Azures, Question Marks and Commas.

The fall flowers are still impressive out there but soon will fade so if you can get the time do go out onto The Spit and enjoy. Next will be the changing colour of the leaves, not as impressive as other sites but nice enough.
